Small Business Start-up Grants-Free Business Money

Grants and financial assistance are considered to be a boon for small businesses that desire to expand in the future. Small businesses are believed to be a vital stimulator for the economic growth of the country. This is the reason, today there are many state government agencies that encourage small businesses by providing them grants for starting a business. They are also provided with other small business financing aid. For Full Information read......

Procedure For Obtaining Grants for Small Business

Business Plan
I have been saying that there are many government agencies, that give grants to encourage your small business, but how? Well, it is not possible that, one fine morning you go at the office and ask for grant and it will be readily given to you! For that, the first step is to prepare a proper business plan. Your business plan must be transparent mentioning the objectives, goals and the mission statement of your organization. Moreover, business concerns such as the targeted market, outline of the small business marketing strategy to sell your product and many more. Your business plan must be consisted of a proper discussion of all the aforementioned details. It is only then that you will be able to convince and ensure the agency that you are serious with your business and you desperately need the grant for its upbringing.
Working with Organization
Organizations such as the Small Business Administration (SBA), are vital, as you will always be able to learn all those small and large tips and advises, to obtain the grant easily. Not only this, SBA also provides you with business initiating loans and also grants, at comparatively smaller interest rates so as to encourage your businesses. Therefore, working with such organizations for some period of time definitely helps in many ways.
Benefit to the Community
Now, your business is surely a profit-making venture. But, is it only you that will be benefited by it? If this is the case, then think over this point. The agencies that issue grants always prioritize businesses that are more likely to benefit the society, along with the owner of the business. For example, with regards to employment, if your business is generating 10 jobs in the society while the other is generating 5, then your business will be prioritized for the grant. It is therefore advisable to consider the overall community benefit while preparing the business plan.
Research on Grant Issuing Organizations
There are not one, but many organizations or agencies that give you grants for small business startup. Therefore, it is always necessary to do some research with regards to finding out the best one for your business. Find out organizations that offer the least rate of interest and the one that is quicker with its procedures of verification and issuance. You can surf through Internet to find out information on such organizations.

Small Business Grants For Minority Women-Free Grants For Business

Small Business Grants For Minority Women-Free Grants For Business

Small business grants for minority women are a better option in comparison to taking small business loans, as unlike loans, these grants do not have to be paid back.
So, all minority women who are interested in starting/expanding their business, should consider applying for such grants offered by the state government, federal government and non-profit organizations. Given below is some useful information on how to find and apply for such small business financing grants.
How to Find Small Business Grants for Minority Women
Grants.gov Website
The first place to visit when looking for government grants for women who belong to the minority and are interested in starting their business is this website. This website provides complete information on the government agencies which provide grants.
The website also gives information on the various kinds of grants a minority woman will be eligible for. An important thing to keep in mind while searching for grants is that they are not available throughout the year. So, you will have to keep your eyes open and check the various government agency websites for recent grant announcements from time to time.
Minority Business Development Agency
Get in touch with MBDA i.e. Minority Business Development Agency. MBDA is a federal agency set up by the U.S. Department of Commerce to aid in the development and growth of the minority owned businesses. MBDA functions through a network of business centers as well as strategic partners throughout America. MBDA offers federal small business grants for minority women however there may be some conditions laid to give the grants. For example, government grants may be given only if businesses are opened in a specific location or if only a certain type of business is started. To know in detail about their programs and grants, log on to the official MBDA website.
Small Business Administration
There are a number of Women Business Centers (WBC) established by the Office of Women's Business Ownership (OWBO) throughout United States. These centers provide technical, managerial and all other kinds of counseling and help to women who belong to socially disadvantaged classes who are interested in starting their own business. You can visit one of these women business centers or simply log on to the official website of small business administration to know about the various small business grants for women.
Non- Profit Foundations
There are certain non- profit organizations as well which provide small business grants for women and minorities. Such non-profit organizations in turn get grants from the federal government which they pass onto the needy people of the society for starting a business. So, search the Internet or get in touch with such non-profit organizations and know about their funding programs.
How to Apply Small Business Grants for Minority Women
While applying for small business grants for minorities, make sure that you have a well written business plan as well as a grant proposal. A business plan should include the benefits of starting the business, how the business will make money, who will be its clients, what products/services it will manufacture, etc. In case you feel that you do not have the required skills to frame a business plan, consider hiring a professional to do the job.
Along with the application for minority women business grants, provide a certificate that the business is/will be woman owned.
This certification will help you to get government contracts in the future. To get this certification, get in touch with National Women's Business Owners Corporation or Women's Business Enterprise National Council.
In order to ensure that your application for small business grants for minority women is approved quickly, there are a number of things that you can do. Firstly, in your business plan, mention how your business will help the community. For example, write about the jobs that it will create in the community or how you will provide your office space for a school in the evening.
Secondly, proofread your application and business plan thoroughly. The information provided should be accurate and there should be no spelling mistakes. If you keep these tips in mind, your chances of getting a grant will certainly improve.

Small Business Grants For Minorities and Women in Business-Apply Business Grants

Small Business Grants For Minorities and Women in Business-Apply Business Grants

For many reasons the government supports minority and women businesses with free grant money to help start a new business or expand a current one.
Local governments in particular are highly interested in what you can do in terms of bringing revenue and tax dollars in to the community and creating an attractive environment for nearby small business owners.
Your business success is critical to the health of the economy and the community you do business in, which is why billions of dollars are given away each year to help entrepreneurs get off the ground running.
The government realizes that there is some financial risk involved with starting a business. Not only can it cost a significant amount of money, but it often has to be done while sacrificing any kind of income.
The biggest fear is that people who are business savvy and have a great idea for a small business will never pursue it because of the financial barriers that exist. But America cannot continue to be a competitive nation and thrive economically without the entrepreneurial spirit and success.
Minorities and women are one of the hottest areas that these grant programs seem to be focusing on. There are many resources for minority and women businesses owners to find and obtain free grant money for business that never has to be paid back.
Obtaining $50,000 grant checks for a home based business, for example, does not seem that far fetched. You will need a well thought out plan that shows that your business will likely produce and income over the next several years. Beyond that it is just a matter of finding and applying for the programs that you qualify for.

Veteran Owned Small Business Grants-Small Business Grants For Veterans

Veteran Owned Small Business Grants-Small Business Grants For Veterans

After retiring or discharging from the vigorous duty, the military veterans frequently face the cruel reality in their routine life. In short, the tension begins for them in hunting for a job, to get along with the new type of work which may be just opposite to their military work or building a house.
Due to this, the federal government and some of the organizations with non profit motive have presented business grants to assist in making them for a transition from the military work to the civilian work much easily.
This is the least thing that can be done for them for the service they have rendered to the adored country.
Some of the veterans, after relieved off from military may not like the civilian life peaceful.
This is mainly true for the specialists in the non technical area. The grants are offered in various forms and experience to assist each veteran to find a position in the civilian life.
In the case of specialists veterans like researchers, service engineers, and designers revolving to a profession in consulting looks like a good one normally. But it is very unfortunate that not all the veterans who are out of military service will take the advantage of such skills.
Many of the veterans will go low than the well paid jobs as they may not have qualified for the good jobs that pay well. It is a fact that many of the veterans have acquired some kind of disability on account of their travel while on duty in the military.
Many of the veterans of the previous wars like Korean War, Vietnam war and World War -II have got mental and physical disabilities and some have even acquired emotional disability due to the result of their life on the war field. It is good that the government has at least offered some grants to support these veterans to stand better on their foot.
The government small business grants are generally available each year along with the federal budget annually. A good amount of money has been allocated for many government agencies to enable them to onward the grants and the projects. The utilization of the budget should for the welfare of those agencies that are covered under this.
The grants available are many that are meant for the veterans through the government agency that particularly deals with the department of the affairs of the veterans. Some of the grants that are offered to these veterans are grants for veterans without homes and for veterans who are looking for a new occupation.
The job training and the education grants will be of much helpful to those veterans who are on the look out for a new profession and needs good training for better operation in the employment market.

Grants For Starting a Business-Hidden Trove of Small Business Start Up Capital

Grants For Starting a Business-Hidden Trove of Small Business Start Up Capital

Would-be entrepreneurs often ask us: Where can I get find grants to start a business? And, sadly, some of these individuals pay big money to attend business financing seminars that travel from city to city talking enticingly about “free” government money for your business. All you have to do is pay these folks up front and they will fill out some paperwork for you to apply for these “grants.”
Trouble is, the rare few that are available are so highly specialized in research fields that the odds of getting them are astronomical. In practical terms, it is a dead end. Forget about government grants to start a new business. It won’t happen.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) gets the same question daily at their small business Answer Desk. And their response is always the same: “The SBA does not offer grants to start  small businesses.”
But here’s the good news, and one of the best-kept secrets in the cutthroat world of venture financing. It’s called the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) program, and it has provided nearly $30 billion in financing (both loans and equity investments) to 90,000 small businesses since 1958.
This program is for real. And while it is still going strong, it maintains a low profile by design, so the folks who manage the funds that invest in small companies don’t get totally devoured by cash-hungry entrepreneurs.
SBICs - some 450 of them nationwide - represent a uniquely successful partnership between Uncle Sam and private investors. Each SBIC - while licensed and regulated by the SBA - is actually a privately owned and managed investment firm that provides venture capital and startup financing to small businesses.
Seed money for some of America’s most beloved businesses originally came from SBICs, including America Online, Apple Computer, Callaway Golf, Federal Express, Gymboree, Outback Steakhouse, Staples, Sports Authority and many more.
SBICs also are funding up-and-coming small firms like NetSpend, an Austin, TX-based business that offers debit card processing and marketing services. Two brothers, Roy and Bertrand Sosa who moved their family to Austin from Mexico in 1986, founded NetSpend.
They launched the business from their one-bedroom apartment in 1998 with $750. In 2000, several SBICs invested in the fledgling firm, helping fuel a period of rapid growth that landed the company as the National Association of SBICs’ Portfolio Company of the Year in 2003.
Catapult to the big time
SBICs have been a marvelous mechanism for catapulting promising small companies into the big time. The government itself does not make direct investments, nor does it select the firms that will be backed. That’s all left to the qualified private fund managers. The funds set their own policies and make their own investment decisions.
What the SBA does do is match funds. For every dollar the private funds put up, they are eligible to receive another two dollars from the SBA - a huge boost. Here, the SBA invests alongside private risk-taking investors. And while hardly anyone knows it, this program has made Uncle Sam the largest single investor in U.S. private equity funds.
Each SBIC is free to define its own area of interest. Some specialize in specific industries, geographic areas or personal interests of the fund managers. And while all SBICs will consider applications from socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs, Specialized Small Business Investment Companies (SSBICs) make all of their investments in that area.

Small Business Start Up Grants For African Americans-Apply Free Business Money

Small Business Start Up Grants For African Americans-Apply Free Business Money

It is possible for African American entrepreneurs to find grants to assist them with starting up their companies. But grants can be difficult to come by, and the field for such grants is competitive. Entrepreneurs should be prepared to look around for grant programs that meet their needs and prepare to make a good case for why their businesses are worthy of grant funding.
Business Plans
African American entrepreneurs who are looking for small business grants, or any other type of financing for their businesses, should start by making sure they have written a polished, professional and thorough business plan. This document helps all entrepreneurs plan the direction of their companies, including aspects such as business structure, customer attraction and retention, marketing, and growth projections. Having this plan in place helps entrepreneurs to make a case for why their companies should qualify for grant funding.
The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) has a site dedicated to helping African American and minority entrepreneurs with the basics of starting a business, including a how-to section on writing business plans. Visit SCORE's website for more information.
Minority Business Development Agency
Start out a grant search by visiting the website for the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), a branch of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that helps start and grow minority-owned companies. One of the MBDA's primary missions is helping companies with access to capital.
The agency has a page on its website that lists grant-related websites and organizations---on a national basis and for each state---that can provide a starting point for African American business owners looking for funding.
Business.gov
Visit Business.gov, a website that was created by the federal government to help small-business owners find information that can help them start and grow their companies. Business.gov includes a page where entrepreneurs can search for financing (including grant programs) that cater to minority-owned businesses. Small business owners should go to the website and enter search criteria for their companies, which will help them to locate grant and loan programs that can assist African American entrepreneurs.
National Minority Supplier Development Council
Talk with a local branch of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), an organization that works to provide procurement and business opportunities for minority-owned companies. Many states have their own chapter of the NMSDC or a similar organization that is affiliated with the NMSDC, which can help African American entrepreneurs to find financing programs in their local area, including grants if such programs exist locally.
Visit the NMSDC website to learn more about the council and local chapters that can help with grant information.
Caution
It is commonly thought that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) gives grants to help entrepreneurs start their companies, but this is false. The federal government does provide small-business grants for high-tech research and development, and the SBA's grant programs are reserved for nonprofits, governments and other entities that provide small business assistance. It is advised that entrepreneurs avoid paying for information that claims to give access to federal start-up grants, since such funding does not exist.

Small Business Start-Up Grants-Dollar 150,000 to Start Your First Business

Small Business Start-Up Grants-Dollar 150,000 to Start Your First Business

Believe it or not, one of the best places to get financing to open your first business is a bank. While banks are incredibly strict when lending money to first time business owners, there is a special loan program that helps them to loosen up their lending requirements. That program is called the SBA (Small Business Administration) 7(a) Loan program.
The 7(a) loan program can be used in many different ways by many types of businesses. The focus of this article will be using the 7(a) loan program to secure up to $150,000 in financing to start your first business.
The SBA 7(a) program works like this:
The SBA agrees to guarantee a large portion of a loan made by a bank to a first time business owner, granted the bank follows specific guidelines when approving the loan.
The guarantee means that if the loan goes bad, the SBA will write a check to the bank for the guaranteed portion of the loan.
The effect of the SBA guarantee is that it greatly reduces a bank's risk and the bank will be much less strict with its lending guidelines.
So the SBA gives anybody looking to open their first business a shot at getting a bank loan to help with start-up costs. That's the easy part to understand. While a bank will loosen up its lending requirements with an SBA guarantee, it can still be hard to get approved. There are several things you need to know if you if you decided to pursue this type of financing.
First, you've got to have a solid Business Plan. This is what the bank will rely on heavily to determine if you know what you're doing. A solid Business Plan and Income/Expense projections will go a long way towards getting your loan request approved.
Second, you've got to have some business experience either directly or related to the business you are trying to open. If you don't, you'll have a hard time getting an approval.
Third is cash. You'll need to provide 30% of the total cost of starting your business in cash. So if you determine that you need $100,000 to start your business, you'll have to come up with $30,000 of your own cash to invest in the business.
Fourth, strong personal credit is a must. The better your credit scores, the better your chances of getting approved. If your credit scores are less than 650 or you have a bankruptcy you' ll have to seek other avenues to get the financing you need.
